Understanding thin-client/server computing

Açıklama

Understanding Thin-Client/Server Computing provides thorough coverage of the thin-client/server technology developed by Citrix Systems for Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Windows NT. This proven technology enables the latest 32-bit applications to run - from a server - on new or old PCs, Macintosh computers, Windows-based terminals, NetPCs, or network computers. You'll learn how this approach simplifies software updates, configuration, training, and maintenance.

You'll also get an invaluable overview of such crucial issues as: the thin-client/server computing model, ways to centralize application deployment, an architectural overview of the Citrix Independent Computing Architecture (ICA) Services and the relationship of WinFrame to Microsoft Windows NT Server, what hardware you can use, planning the thin-client/server environment, and thin-client/server computing on the Web. In addition, an entire chapter is devoted to case studies that show how different types of organizations have put together cost-effective solutions - and have achieved results that exceeded their expectations.
